Established in 1904, The Sheldon Theatre became the country's first theater to be owned and operated by a city. Today it presents a combination of works by original, local performance groups like the Red Wing Singers, and also brings in touring comedians, musicians, theater groups, film screenings, and more. Restored to its original elegance, the theater occupies a dignified home in the heart of downtown, near Civic Center Park.
